Adam Scott will play 2014 Australian Open, Masters and PGA Championship
Adam Scott has confirmed he will again be appearing at the big three Australian golf tournaments in 2014.
Adam Scott went within a whisker of winning the Australian triple-crown in 2013 and he has confirmed he will be back to try and win the Australian PGa Championship, Australian Masters and Australian Open in 2014.
The PGA of Australia today confirmed that Scott has committed to contend the 2014 Australian PGA Championship to be played from December 11-14 at RACV Royal Pines Resort.
“Whenever you’re defending you always want to return and relive all those good experiences from the previous years but particularly when you’re returning home to Australia and also the Gold Coast which is my home,” said Scott from the United States.
Last year Scott overcame American young gun Rickie Fowler to claim the PGA title by four strokes to the delight of strong crowds at RACV Royal Pines.
IMG, owner and promoter of the Australian Masters, also announced today that defending champion and current world number two will return to Melbourne from 20-23 November and attempt to make history as the first player to win the Australian Masters three years in succession.
“To win a hat-trick of events is something I haven’t done before and would be right up there in my career achievements, especially to do it in Melbourne at the Masters.
The Australian Masters will be played at The Metropolitan Golf Club for the first time as the event rotates through courses in the famed Melbourne sandbelt. Last year Adam Scott beat Matt Kuchar by two strokes to win the Australian Masters for a second time.
