A streaking reminder from the 1985 Open Championship: video
While we don’t condone streaking, or interrupting a golf tournament in anyway, we thought it was wise to remind you all of one of the more famous displays of public nudity on the golf course.
We reported on a streaker on the Nationwide Tour this week, but this is the sort of trouble you can get into if a golfer is not afraid to take you down.
At the 1985 Open Championship at Royal St.George’s, a fan stripped down and begun a merry chase around the 18th green. He wasn’t banking on golfer Peter Jacobsen making a tackle (towards the tackle) and putting an end to the frivolity.
He obviously hadn’t heard about Terry Alderman’s encounter with a streaker only a few years earlier.
