2013 US Open: Westwood’s golf ball caught by fan
Westwood has had a memorable start to the US Open.
Lee Westwood sits at 2-under par through 13 holes at the 2013 US Open but had to contend with fans and wicker baskets before play was suspended for the day.
On the sixth hole, Westwood hit his approach shot into the grandstand which was remarkably caught on the full by a courageous (read: crazy) fan. Westwood managed to save par but on the par-4 12th hole his ball hit the wicker basket that denote the hole locations at Merion and finished with a double bogey.
Westwood seems destined to remain without a major championship don’t you think?
