Golf fans aren’t happy with Patrick Reed over bunkergate
Patrick Reed was caught improving his lie in a bunker and he’s copping it from golf fans.
If you haven’t heard already, Patrick Reed was penalised two-strokes after his third round of the Hero World Challenge for improving his lie in a bunker.
Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the PGA Tour shared a close-up look at Reed’s bunker indiscretion.

Reed offered this excuse.
“I wish (the cameras) were actually directly on the side of me,” Reed said. “Because it was in a pretty good footprint … and I felt like my club was that far behind the ball when I was actually taking the practice stroke, which I felt like I was taking it up.”
It was no surprise though to see the reaction from golf fans around the world.
"What bothered me was that he acted like he was a victim."

Forget the vitriol Patrick Reed is currently receiving, the harshest form of punishment will come via the Australian crowds next week @PresidentsCup. Cue Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman.’

Absolute disgrace. Every golfer knows the rules about grounding the golf club in the bunker. You can’t even touch the sand with a practice swing. Just seen the incident this morning and was shocked that such a good golfer/ bunker player like Patrick reed would do such a thing. https://t.co/kBN1Pp1err
