AUSTRALIAN OPEN Watch this birdie putt hang on the edge before dropping into the hole
The world number one ranked men’s amateur golfer Takumi Kanaya went from despair to delight as a birdie putt appeared to miss before dropping into the hole.
Playing the par-3 15th hole during the third round of The Australian Open, Kanaya put his head in his hands as his golf ball looked to come to rest of the edge of the hole.
But just as he did so the ball dropped into the hole for a birdie. The crowd roared and Japan’s Kanaya looked up to see the ball had disappeared.
With one round remaining, Kanaya sits in third place, four strokes behind leader Matt Jones.
When you think you’ve missed a birdie chance by a centimetre but it’s good 🙌⛳️
