Cheyenne Woods won the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters on Sunday, and in doing so won a name for herself.

Prior to the weekend, Woods was arguably most famous for being the niece of Tiger Woods. She managed to hold off 17-year-old Australian amateur Minjee Lee for her most notable professional victory and assure golf fans that she is making a name for herself.

The post-victory interviews with Woods revealed some of the pressure she has been under with such a famous uncle.

“I’ve been pro for two years and, for the majority of it, people just think of me as Tiger Woods’ niece, so now I have a game of my own and I have a title now, a win, which is exciting,” Woods said after her round on Sunday.

“It’s nice now to say to people that I can play and I’m not just a name. Growing up with the last name of Woods, there’s a lot of expectations and pressure and spotlight on you but I always knew that I was able to win.”

Uncle Tiger congratulated Cheyenne Woods via Twitter:

Woods heads to Melbourne this week to play the Women’s Australian Open which begins on Thursday at Victoria Golf Club.
