Marc Leishman and Jason Day have surged to the top of the leaderboard after the opening round of the BMW Championship.
Marc Leishman has wasted no time getting back into the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs to card a sizzling 9-under 62 at the BMW Championship.
After a week’s break and plenty of time to contemplate the disappointing finish to the Dell Technologies Championship, Leishman has come out with all guns blazing to shoot a sizzling 9-under 62 around Conway Farm GC to open up a two shot lead.
Two shots behind Leishman shooting some pretty good scores of their own is Americans Jamie Lovemark, Charley Hoffman and Australia’s Jason Day.
Day surprised everyone during the week when he announced he was splitting with long-time caddie Col Swatton and has a childhood mate on the bag for him this week.
The change clearly hasn’t been an issue for Day who despite an early bogey, shot his best round in recent memory carding six birdies and an eagle over the last 15 holes to be in good position to begin the week.
