Tiger Woods suffers multiple leg injuries after car crash in Los Angeles
Tiger Woods has been involved in a single-car accident in Los Angeles sustaining multiple leg injuries.
Early reports from the local fire department indicated that Woods has been pulled out of the car via the “Jaws of Life” and the situation appeared critical.
More recent reports say that Woods was conscious at the scene of the accident, has undergone surgery and his current status is serious but non-life-threatening.
Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg released a statement soon after news of the crash began filtering out.
“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” Steinberg said. “He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”
Woods hosted the Genesis Invitational tournament last weekend at Riviera Golf Club in Los Angeles and images from the crash site indicate he was driving a courtesy car from the tournament at the time.
The 15-time major champion and appeared on the broadcast to update golf fans on his latest back surgery which has kept him off the golf course since December when he played a tournament with his son Charlie.
