Tiger, Timberlake and Romo all winners

So the big winners this weekend were Tiger Woods, Tony Romo and Justin Timberlake!

Tiger won his 14th major (now 4 behind Jack Nicklaus) in a mammoth struggle over Rocco Mediate in an 18 hole playoff + 1 extra sudden death hole. It took 91 holes of golf to separate them and with Tiger hobbling around on a bad knee we now know, he can do anything.

After the US Open last year, Tiger said that a 10-handicap golfer could not break 100 around the Oakmont layout as it was so tough. The golf challenge was put to three celebrity golfers this year before the US Open at Torrey Pines and an amateur who won a competition to play in the made for TV event. The celebrities were Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys quarterback, handicap 2), Matt Lauer (“Today” host, handicap 6) and Justin Timberlake (the guy who’s bringing sexy back, handicap 6). So all were below a handicap of 10 but it was only Romo and Timberlake who managed to break 100 scoring 84 and 98 respectively.
