Ireland’s Shane Lowry smashed his way through to the top of the leaderboard after three rounds of The Open Championship.
Beginning the day in a tie for the lead with American JB Holmes, 32-year-old Lowry thrilled the crowds at Royal Portrush to post an incfedible, bogey-free 8-under par 63.
Lowry will take a four-shot lead ahead of Tommy Fleetwood going into the final day. The final pairing of Lowry and Fleetwood will tee off at 1:47pm (10:47pm AEST), two hours ahead of schedule due to bad weather predicted for later in the day.
If you didn’t catch the highlights of a remarkable third day, here they are.
