THE MASTERS An expert’s guide to skimming the golf ball across the water at Augusta National
A few golfers from the Masters give their tips on how best to try and skim the golf ball across the water.
Tradition, tradition, tradition. You’re going to hear it over and over again this week as The Masters rolls around once again at Augusta National.
One such tradition set to take place this week at the 2025 Masters Tournament is the attempt to skim the ball across the water at the iconic par-3 16th hole during the early practice rounds.
Ahead of the tournament, some of the golfers have been asked about their strategy. A number, including Adam Scott, are simply determined to get the ball to skim as hard and as quickly as possible, while others find a high number of bounces much more satisfying.
Billy Horschel’s recollection of the first time he attempted the challenge is worth hearing.
The Masters begins on Thursday, April 10, with five Australians in the field – check out how to watch it in Australia.
