That’s KT Kim
Before the start of The Presidents Cup, most international golf fans were asking, “Who is KT Kim? Well, now we know.
In an interview before the Presidents Cup began, YE Yang proclaimed KT Kim is the best Korean golfer. Largely unknown outside of Korea and Japan Tour, the comment was met with some scepticism but the young Korean has shown Yang knows his golf.
Kim played some of the best golf we’ve seen from any of the International players this week in his match with YE Yang against the more fancied Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson. He made a clutch five foot putt on the final hole to ensure a much needed one hole victory for the International Team.
The first Korean player to win the Japan Tour order of merit in 2010, Kim had some great appearances on the US PGA Tour this year. He finished top-10 at the Bridgestone Invitational and the Wyndham Championship, as well as good showings at three of the four major championships.
Kim took a few days to adjust to the sandbelt course and his status in the International team, but now we all know who he is, not just YE Yang. He will no doubt be the face of the 2015 Presidents Cup in South Korea.
