Su Oh wins Australian Ladies Masters in just second pro tournament

Victorian teenager Su Oh has won the Australian Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast in just her second professional tournament.

Highly rated teenager Su-Hyun Oh has won the Australian Ladies Masters, beating Charley Hull, Katherine Kirk and Florentyna Parker by three strokes.

In just her second tournament since turning professional, Su Oh had no troubles closing out the tournament, making birdies at each of closing four holes and beating her more highly fancied rivals at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.

The victory was made even more impressive when you consider Oh’s finish to her first professional start at the Victorian Open at Thirteenth Beach two weeks ago.

With three holes to play at last week’s Victorian Open at Thirteenth Beach, Su Oh had a chance to win her first tournament in her first start as a professional. But the former world number one amateur struggled to embrace the pressure and bogeyed the closing three holes to ultimately finish in a tie for second place, three strokes behind the winner Marianne Skarpnord.

Australian golf experts have predicted Oh will make an impact on the world professional golf stage for some time now after finishing second behind Karrie Webb at the same event a few years ago and topping the world amateur golf rankings last year. But few expected her to make such an impact this quickly.

As many have already said, this will no doubt be the first of many more professional wins.
