Robot makes a hole-in-one, Skynet is around the corner: video
A fun, disturbing moment from the opening round of the 2016 Waste Management Open.
A robot named LDRIC (Launch Directional Robot Intelligent Circuitry) made a hole-in-one at TPC Scottsdale’s par-3 16th hole. The robot was created to test out new club designs by a company called Golf Laboratories and reportedly this was LDRIC’s fifth attempt. Still, one in five ain’t bad.
The reaction from everyone around the robot is both weird and fantastic. A hole-in-one has just been made, it’s hard not to want to celebrate – but it’s hard to get a high-five from a machine. Here is more on LDRIC if you’re interested.
