Rickie Fowler to cap his year off in Australia again

Rickie Fowler confirmed for 2013 Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast.

Rickie Fowler has confirmed his appearance at the 2013 Australian PGA Championship this week, which will be held at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, November 7 – 10, 2013.

Fowler last played in Australia at the 2011 Australian PGA Championship at Coolum. On that occasion Fowler arrived in Australia with just ten caps in his bag and finished in a tie for 14th, six shots behind eventual winner Greg Chalmers.

The man who loves a splash of orange to his outfits is looking forward to coming back to playing in Australia.

“I love Australia. I’ve been there a handful of times and this will be my second professional event there. I haven’t found a part of Australia I haven’t liked yet,” said Fowler.

“I’m definitely showing up there to win and play my best but I’m also looking forward to seeing a little more of Australia.”

The 24-year-old American is somewhat of a poster boy for American golf, and ranked 34th in the world Fowler is a great addition to the Australian PGA Championship field.

With good looks and a penchant for motocross, Fowler is often being lured to take part in advertisements such as this recent promotion for Red Bull where he took on – and beat – a psychedelic dragon.

Perhaps it’s a good thing the Australian PGA is not at Coolum anymore. We may have seen a few dead dinosaurs.
