Phil Mickelson’s putt for a 59: video
Phil Mickelson almost added his name to the elite 59 club this morning at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
Mickelson tied his previous best score of 60 (11-under) and not surprisingly, currently leads the field after the opening round by one shot.
I love the way Mickelson can look down and out one week and shoot the lights out the week after. He’s inconsistent but you can never rule him out of any tournament no matter what form he’s in.
I wouldn’t rule him out for another green jacket this year.

It was such a shame after a brilliant round of golf.
The putt looked in all the way and was so unlucky not to drop. It could be Mickelson’s only chance at breaking 60 again?
