Off Course Golf coming to O-week at ANU

Canberra’s leading university is teeing off 2014 with a unique on-campus golf event.

As O-week approaches for universities across Australia, Australian National University are bringing golf to the students. The unique on-campus event that aims to attract new golfers and perhaps keep interest in the game for those who perhaps have their minds too focussed on their studies.

If you were to track the status of my golf game years ago, it would have risen and fallen in synchrony with university holidays. O-Week always marked the next dip in my golf game but perhaps it wouldn’t have been so bad if Off Course Golf were around.

The ANU’s Students’ Association have decided to make golf part of the official O-Week activities and are bringing the ‘Big Swing’ to campus — Off Course Golf‘s variation of a traditional long-drive competition. The event will feature DJ’s, plenty of prizes and lessons from professionals.

The ANU Big Swing will be held on Thursday 13 February from 2-4pm at ANU on Fellows Oval.
