Nordqvist hole-in-one wins match at Solheim Cup: video
Making a hole-in-one is a pretty good way to win a match.
The Solheim Cup is a biennial golf tournament between ladies teams representing Europe and USA. Similar to the Ryder Cup, the event is played over three days in a series of four-ball, foursomes and singles matches.
Today Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist made the first ever Solheim Cup hole-in-one at the 17th hole to win a match for the European Team.
Both the Friday and Saturday matches have been marred by controversial rulings but Europe hold a commanding five point lead going into the final day singles matches.
Team USA have won the Solheim Cup eight out of the twelve times it has been held. If Europe win tomorrow it will mark the first time that Europe have ever won the event on US soil.
