No-phone guy at PGA Championship gets a beer sponsorship deal
The no-phone guy from the PGA Championship is now even more famous after Michelob Ultra has given him a sponsorship deal.
Not across the no-phone guy? Here’s the low down.
An image of Tiger Woods playing a shot from the rough during the US PGA Championship went viral – and not because of Tiger Woods.
Not surprisingly, fans in the gallery in the background were making sure they captured Woods on their phone.
But one guy stood out from the crowd – he stood there watching Woods without a phone and simply holding on to his beer. Like some sort of psychopath.
Social media noticed him and the image went viral.

And now Michelob Ultra, the beer this guy was holding on to has found him and taking his notoriety up a notch with a sponsorship deal.
It turns out the guy’s name is Mark Radetic and he’s now got a stack of beer in the fridge.
“It really took off because everybody was on their cam except me, and I was holding a Michelob Ultra,” said Radetic. “They said they want to do an ad campaign around it. Ultra has offered to give me as they said copious amounts of Ultra.”
We found #TheMichelobGuy. As you can imagine, Mark was hard to reach. He proved it’s only worth it if you enjoy it, so we immortalized him with some merch. Grab a tee and rock it at the next golf event for a chance to win some free ULTRA. pic.twitter.com/bfZRo0aQ1w

We should make @TheMichUltraGuy his own can, right? The only question is, what color looks better: blue or white? https://t.co/toi1vOaXIf pic.twitter.com/8YJ4QlHzsc
