The former Chatswood Golf Club has officially reopened as Newgreens Chatswood, Australia’s first purpose-built 12-hole golf course.

Located on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, the new layout has been designed to offer a premium golfing experience that can be completed in less time than a traditional 18-hole round, appealing to modern golfers balancing work, family and leisure commitments.

Designed by Neil Crafter, the par-44 course measures 2,871 metres and features a mix of challenging par-3s, strategic par-4s and longer par-5s.

The redevelopment replaces the old Chatswood Golf Club layout, which faced land and safety constraints, with a more sustainable and flexible golf offering for the future.

Golf Industry Central’s Mike Orloff was impressed after an early look at the facility, describing it as a “very impressive facility” and praising the quality of the green complexes.

The course forms part of the broader Newgreens lifestyle precinct, which combines golf, hospitality and community facilities in a modern setting.
