New phone app touted as the ‘UberEats’ of golf

Fetched on the Fairway launches a mobile app for golfers to order food, drinks and golf gear delivered during a round of golf.

A new Australian-made golf app has launched aimed at delivering food and drink to golfers during a round of golf.

Fetched on the Fairway can be thought of as the ‘UberEats’ of golf offering a way to get food, drink and golf gear delivered to golfers on course via a GPS enabled phone app.

A pilot phase at Brisbane Golf Club has been a success and Fetched on the Fairway will be rolling out across Australia in the coming months, with an eye to expand internationally.

From the press release:

“As a golfer who enjoys a couple of beverages on the course, it seemed the drinks cart was nowhere to be found when I wanted it,” Fetched co-founder Chris Coppin said.

“Golf isn’t a short game, at an average of 5 hours for 18 holes, you get hungry. Packed sandwiches really don’t do it for me and lining up at the Halfway House disrupts pace of play. Fetched solves all these problems.”

Tailored to each club, Fetched offers everything a golfer could need on the course – coffees, balls, tees, and even on-demand coaching – delivered direct or pre-ordered for pickup.

Co-Founder Colin McEown said they expected introducing a mobile app to a game that once prohibited phones on the course to be a challenge, but the response among clubs and players has been positive.
