Katherine Kirk wins Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic: video highlights

Katherine Kirk has won her first LPGA trophy since 2011 with a one-stroke win at the inaugural Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Wisconsin.

Taking a four-shot lead into the final round, Kirk faltered through the middle of the round to fall back into a tie for the lead along side South African Ashleigh Buhai and South Korea’s Sei Young Kim. Consecutive birdies at the 12th and 13th hole re-established her lead. Kirk dropped a shot at the 17th and the Australian arrived at the 18th hole with a one shot cushion from playing partner Buhai.

Kirk played a superb approach to the 18th. Having to draw her shot around the trees which poked out from the left, Kirk knocked her ball within 10-feet of the hole. But when Buhai followed with an even better shot to three feet, Kirk needed to roll in her 10-foot birdie putt to ensure victory.
