Jordan Spieth played a very dangerous golf shot from the edge of a cliff

Jordan Spieth is back doing Jordan Spieth things and it’s incredibly engaging to watch.

For some reason, with a caddie and yardage book, Spieth continues to hit it close to the edge of the clifftop on the par-4 8th hole at Pebble Beach.

During the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Spieth hit his golf ball within feet of the edge of the clifftop. And if you think that’s dangerous, the three-time major champion decided to play it.

The video below shows just how crazy this idea was. But in typical Spieth fashion, he played it very well and went on to make an amazing par.

Later he told reporters that his caddie had tried to talk him out of playing the shot and it wasn’t until after he’d played the shot that he fully realised the insanity of it all.

“He tried to talk me out of it three times. I don’t blame him, looking back,” Spieth said. “I’m just glad I made the par to make it worth it, because I don’t think I would have made par with a drop, but if I made bogey it would have really not been worth it.

“It was more of a nervous and adrenaline hitting it and then when I got to the green as I was walking there it was more of like an anxiety feeling afterwards, luckily it wasn’t before. But, yeah, I mean if I had, I think I’ll hit less club tomorrow.”
