Jon Rahm misses an 11-inch putt, leaves it short

Jon Rahm has missed a simple putt, showing that sometimes even the world’s best golfers do some really strange things on the golf course.

World number one Jon Rahm had just missed a birdie putt on the par-3 7th hole during round one of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. With playing partner Sergio Garcia readying to putt behind him, Rahm leaned in to tap in the 11-inch putt for par.

But things got awkward as Rahm made minimal contact with the golf ball, somehow leaving it short of the hole.

“I wish I could give you all the excuses in the world, but no, it’s as simple as, you know, it just didn’t feel good in my hands, and I tried to stop, and I didn’t. I just simply didn’t stop. I don’t know. It was very odd,” Rahm said after the round.

“It’s not like it affected my play the rest of the day because I played really good. But sitting at 1 under I feel like would feel a lot better than even par. It just sucks to give that one away.”
