JB Holmes leads, Rory and Tiger stumble at The Open – Round 1 full video highlights

It was a slow, long day at Royal Portrush that sees American JB Holmes leading Ireland’s Shane Lowry but a stroke at the end of day one of the 2019 Open Championship.

As the wind and rain swept across the north coast of Northern Ireland, plenty of big names tumbled down the leaderboard including Tiger Woods and pre-tournament favourite Rory McIlroy who stumbled out of the blocks with a quadruple-bogey on the opening hole.

And if you’re looking for the Aussies you may have to look further down the leaderboard, with just Jason Day and Cameron Smith breaking par at 1-under par but very much in the tournament.

Adam Scott and Marc Leishman began the tournament with high hopes but find themselves in a battle to make the cut both finishing on a score of 7-over par respectively.
