Golf Over the Roof: Bryson DeChambeau’s Backyard Hole-in-One
Bryson DeChambeau has completed a one-of-a-kind challenge: hitting a hole-in-one over his house.
If you aren’t up to speed, here’s what’s been happening.
DeChambeau set out to launch a golf ball from the front of his home onto a putting green in the backyard. The 16-day challenge involved him attempting progressively more shots each day, with his efforts documented on social media.
The attempt included several near-misses, such as shots that stopped inches from the hole on multiple days.
On Day 13, a ball even entered the cup before spinning out. Undeterred, DeChambeau continued, occasionally altering his approach, including playing in flip-flops, while attracting humorous commentary from fans and organizations like LIV Golf.
On Day 16, during his 14th attempt, he finally succeeded. The ball rolled into the cup, prompting an energetic celebration.
Captured on video and shared on Instagram, DeChambeau tossed his hat into the air, ran to the backyard, collapsed onto the green, and declared, “That’s enough.”
After a year when he claimed the US Open title, it’s not a bad finish. In true DeChambeau style, it’s all very understated.
