Golf fan ejected for asking Patrick Reed to sign his shovel
It seems minor heckling is no longer permitted on the PGA Tour as golf fan ejected for sledging Patrick Reed.
The PGA Tour announced today that THE PLAYERS Championship will be closed to fans due to COVID-19 concerns.
So at least they won’t have to deal with golf fans dishing out incredibly soft sledges towards players. Such as this harmless remark to Patrick Reed.
“Hey Pat, can you sign my shovel?”, was enough to have this guy escorted from the grounds of TPC Sawgrass during round one of THE PLAYERS Championship. Seriously?!

If this was the line you couldn’t cross at the Presidents Cup, thousands would have been escorted from Royal Melbourne,
The perceived lack of punishment by the PGA Tour for Patrick Reed’s bunker controversy last December is going to be rear its head at many golf tournaments to come. Irrespective of whether Patrick Reed goes on to win more golf tournaments including majors.
The PGA Tour got this one wrong and the heckling, won’t be going away any time soon.
Here is the guy being driven away in a golf cart.
