The YouTube creator Jimmy Bunkers, who is on a self-described search for Australia’s best hidden gem golf courses, has turned his attention to Gerringong Golf Club on the NSW South Coast, and judging by his reaction, he was blown away.

In his latest video, titled “This Hidden Gem Golf Course Blew Me Away | Australia’s Best-Kept Secret”, Bunkers highlights the stunning coastal layout, breathtaking ocean views and the surprisingly strong course design that awaits golfers making the trip to the small seaside town.

From towering views over Werri Beach and the Pacific Ocean to a layout that twists and turns across dramatically undulating terrain, Gerringong is one of those courses that tends to leave a lasting impression on first-time visitors. I’m not sure I’d describe it as a “masterpiece” like Jimmy does, but it is the type of place that proves great golf doesn’t have to come with a five-figure membership fee or a spot in a major city.

Back in 2009, we described Gerringong Golf Club as a “hidden gem”, noting that the sweeping coastal views alone made it worth the trip.

While the course may have remained under the radar nationally, locals and savvy travelling golfers have known for years that it offers one of the most enjoyable golf experiences on the South Coast.
