British Open observations II

  • Camilo Villegas’ second round 65 was superb. He could be a real threat now.
  • The Shark again? Surely not.
  • If conditions get tough, he’s a chance. If things brighten up I’m not sure he can shoot low enough these days.
  • Quote of the day, from Paul Arnfield (long time Aussie Golfer reader and contributer): Great to see that 54 year old, two time champion and newly wed Greg Norman is at the top of the leader board in a tie for fourth place. Good to have you back Shark… Is Viagra on the banned drug list?

  • I managed to watch the first couple of holes that Norman played and it didn’t look good, both bogeys! I hope that the press lay off as this should not be deemed a failure by Norman but in my opinion an enormous achievement regardless of the last round, now I’m not sure how many four round tournaments The Shark has played as the seniors only play three I think, so taking into consideration the tough conditions, for Norman to have won this it would have been up there with the greatest wins in golf bar none!
