Brendon Goddard to caddie for Marcus Fraser at US Open

Marcus Fraser has qualified for his seventh US Open and he’ll have a former AFL footballer one his bag at Pabble Beach.

Josh Gabelich at FoxSports reported that former Essendon and St.Kilda AFL player Brendon Goddard will be on the bag for Marcus Fraser at the US Open next week.

Fraser earned his place in the field for the US Open at Pebble Beach after finishing second at the qualifying event at Walton Heath in England on Monday this week.

“I never thought the first time I’d walk the fairways at Pebble Beach would be on the bag at the US Open. I’m yet to tick that one off the bucket list, so I’m pretty excited,” Goddard told Foxsports.com.au.

“I’m a golf sicko, so when I say it is a dream come true it seems a bit farfetched for a few people, but I love being up and close and entrenched in the preparation and around those guys.”

Gabelich also reports that this isn’t the first time Goddard has caddied for Fraser. Goddard also played looper for his good mate at the Hong Kong Open last November where Fraser missed the cut by a couple of shots.

Fraser is one of eight Australians who will tee it up at the 2019 US Open including Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Cameron Smith, Jason Day, Matt Jones, Aaron Baddeley and Brett Drewitt.
