83-year-old golfer shoots his age at Beverley Park
An 83-year-old golfer shoots 79 off the stick.
John Parnham is an 83-year-old member of Beverley Park Golf Club in Sydney and last week he shot 79 off the stick to easily beat his age by four shots.
Shooting one’s age is on most golfer’s bucket list but is an extremely rare event. Beverley Park News believes it is the first time a member has accomplished the feat in over 35 years.
Parnham is one month short of turning 84 and his achievement off a handicap of 17 resulted in a nett score of 62 which won him the B-Grade Medal.
It’d be nice to just be playing golf when at 83 years of age, let alone carding sub-80 rounds. Nice work John.
