2021 PGA CHAMPIONSHIP: Round 1 video highlights
Canadian Corey Conners has jumped out of the blocks at the brutal Ocean Course at Kiawah Island to lead the 2021 PGA championship by two strokes.
Conners’ 5-under par 67 included just the one blemish on his card that came at the par-4 9th hole after missing the green and failing to get up-and-down.
The Canadian’s round was two shots better than six golfers tied in second place at 3-under par, including Brooks Koepka, Viktor Hovland and Australian Cameron Davis.
The long-hitting Davis looked at home in the blustery conditions and only seemed to trip up at the 6th hole when an errant drive led to a triple-bogey; making his final round total look even better.
