nswopenTHE FIELD – Tee Times
We’d argue that this year’s NSW Open has one of the best fields for many years with some fascinating story-lines to keep an eye on.

Rhein Gibson, Andrew Dodt, Jarrod Lyle, Wade Ormsby and long-drive champ Jamie Sadlowski will be playing at Stonecutters Ridge, plus a plethora of some of Australia’s best young talent including Todd Sinnott, Eisenhower Trophy winner Harrison Endycott, Queensland Open champion Brett Coletta, and last week’s Federal Amateur Open winner Austin Bautista.

There are also a number of veterans hoping to gatecrash the youth movement including Peter Senior who may be playing his last season of professional golf, Robert Allenby, Nathan Green, Peter Lonard, Nick O’Hern, Peter Fowler and Craig Parry.

THE COURSE- Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club
The Greg Norman designed Stonecutters Ridge is a wonderful golf course that is only slightly marred by a weird finishing stretch of holes, including an 18th that doesn’t really do the course justice. If you’ve never played the course before, make sure you put it on your list.

Course Record: 10-under 62 set by Rohan Blizard and Aaron Wilkin during the second round of the 2015 NSW Open

PAST WINNERS
First played in 1931, the NSW Open has an impressive list of past winners including Jim Ferrier who won it five times, Norman Von Nida (6), Kel Nagle (3), Peter Thomson, Greg Norman (4), Jack Newton (2) and Ian Baker-Finch.

OUR PICKS
Jason Norris won this event in 2007 when it was held at The Vintage and always primes himself for a good summer of golf. We expect NorreyGolf to be about the action on Sunday along with another former champ Aron Price.

Big hitting Todd Sinnott is a big chance to win this week, but we’d also throw in Jason Scrivener who has some good recent results including a top-20 at the Portugal Masters on the European Tour.
