2011 Presidents Cup: Who is K.T.Kim?

If you look down the list of International Team players, you may be asking, who is K.T.Kim?
It is arguable who is the most recognisable golfer across the 24 players in this week’s Presidents Cup, but K.T.Kim won’t be in the argument.
Kim is the most unknown, unrecognisable golfer in the Presidents Cup but he will play a huge role in attempting to secure a win for the International Team at Royal Melbourne this week.

It is a fair bet most Australian golf fans don’t know much about Kim, but they can take comfort from the fact that even Internationals Team Captain Greg Norman isn’t sure who he is.

“I don’t know much about him. I try to learn as much as I could about him but I don’t know much about his golf swing. He’s probably the one I can’t really make a comment. But his consistency in the year or two years to be on the team is a testament to his ability to play.”, Norman says on the Presidents Cup website.

South Korean born, Kyung-Tae Kim was the fifth ranked qualifier for the International Team for the Presidents Cup thanks largely to a wonderful 2011 on the Japan Tour. He has had ten Top-20 finishes out of 11 starts, including five top-10’s and a win at the International Sega Sammy Cup.
Kim is also no stranger to big-time golf tournaments either. He played all four majors this year, making the cut in all but The Open Championship. In addition, Kim finished sixth at the Bridgestone Invitational and fourth and the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour.
At just 25 years old, Kim is one of the young guns in international golf and will be better known interntaionally after this week’s Presidents Cup.
