Wise-cracking Westwood

Westwood is wise-cracking his way to a WGC Accenture Match Play semi-final.
Lee Westwood seems like quite the relaxed character going into the semi-final dual with Rory McIlroy. He’s fired off another set of post-round humour taking the piss out of himself as much as anything.
The semi-final’s are played tomorrow morning and the final is played in the afternoon. When asked about the physically draining aspect of playing two rounds in one day, Westwood displayed humour not usually seen from professional golfers.
“I invest a lot of energy, but you can see what a physically fine-tuned specimen I am now,” Westwood said. “I think I’d like to think I’m quite capable of playing two more rounds of golf, hopefully.”
He was then asked about the mentally draining nature two rounds in one day.

“Mentally, yeah, I’m mental,” Westwood quipped. “I can never quite figure that mentally drained one out. Why would you get mentally drained when you get into positions that you work for and practice hard for? You should be in those positions enjoying yourself.”
This comes on the back of a quip about a racehorse he has invested in. He was watching it race on his phone during a pre-round practice session.
“It’s a good horse, just doesn’t win (laughter) at least it came in second, which I can sympathize with to a certain extent.”
And his comment (via Twitter) about actually making the round of 16 for the first time in his career.

Feel like the 1st man on the moon! 1 giant step through to Friday at the matchplay! Need more clothes. Didn’t pack for long enough!

The guy’s a golfing comedian! Wouldn’t it be nice to have a whole bunch of golfer’s this interesting to listen to after a round?
