Why it’s impossible to drive a golf ball 450 yards: video
Golf technology has sent the golf ball traveling much further than in any time in history. Here is why there is still an upper limit.
Nice video from the team at Wired that takes a closer look at the technology of golf balls and golf clubs, and the reason there is still an upper limit on how far the golf ball can be hit. The segment into ball technology is particularly cool.
That’s not to say the golf ball won’t eventually go further with modifications to the golf technology – within the rules of course.
It all goes well until they mentioned towards the end that one result of all this may mean we have to build longer golf courses.
We wonder how The Old Course feels about all this?
