Rumours of a movie about the life of Seve Ballesteros prove true with the release of the trailer.

Not long after Seve Ballesteros died in 2011, rumours circulated that a movie was going to be made of his life. Well, it seems the rumours were true with the release of the trailer for the movie simply titled “Seve”.

The film looks to be taking a closer look at Ballesteros’ youth and the young Seve is being played by a young Spanish golfer, Jose Luis Gutierrez who was a former runner-up in the Spanish Amateur championship.

According to the synopsis on IMDB.com:

Despite being blocked at almost every turn in pursuit of the sport he loved, Seve Ballesteros fought against adversity to become the most spectacular and charismatic golfer to ever play the game.

The release date of June 27 is for the UK only. No word on whether this will be a release date for Australia too, or whether it will hit cinemas at all down here. We’ll keep you informed if we find out.
