Video: Shane Warne plays a golf shot from the stands at St Andrews

Warming up for the Dunhill Links, Shane Warne found his golf ball in an awkward spot.

Shane Warne is a regular in the field at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and he is back in the field for 2015 and has been practising his golf from an unusual spots around The Old Course.

Playing a practice round at The Old Course at St Andrews with former England captain Michael Vaughan, Warne’s golf ball finished up at the back of the grandstand beside the famous 17th road hole.

No stranger to finding himself in some awkward spots, Warne opted to play the shot, Vaughan filmed it and posted to Instagram.

The unique event on the European Tour calendar sees professionals paired with an amateur and played over three courses; The Old Course at St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.

Warne will be paired with Australian Wade Ormsby while Vaughan will be playing with New Zealand’s Ryan Fox.

Warne also managed to Instagram a video of his own featuring Vaughan escaping from a deep bunker at the 7th hole.
