VIDEO / Bubba Watson storms to victory at WGC Dell Technologies Match Play

Bubba Watson has claimed his second WGC event with a 7&6 rout of Kevin Kisner in the final of the Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin, Texas.

While the result was impressive, Kisner carded five bogies without a birdie on the front nine. Watson was in good touch after taking down Justin Thomas in the semi-final and grabbed a 7-up lead through 10 holes. The result was never in doubt.

Watson’s victory adds another intriguing piece of the Masters puzzle. The two-time champion has been somewhat forgotten over the past month with much of the talk centred on Mickelson, Casey, Spieth and Woods, but you’d be a fool to discount the left-hander around Augusta.

Australian golfer Cameron Smith booked his spot in The Masters Tournament by getting through to the quarter finals. Smith eventually lost to Alex Noren 4&2 but his performance was enough to cement his spot in the top-50 (rising to world golf ranking of 44) and earning an automatic spot at Augusta National in two weeks time.

Smith will play his second Masters Tournament after making the cut and finishing in a tie for 55th place in 2016.
