Surfing pro caddying for Adam Scott at Sony Open: video

With Steve Williams doing some car racing, a pro surfer is caddying for Adam Scott this week.

Adam Scott was left without a caddy this week as Steve Williams is indulging in his passion for car racing. When professional surfer and good mate Benji Weatherley put his hand up for the job, Scott decided to give him a one-off job at the Sony Open.

It looks like the pairing is working out pretty well with Scott at 7-under par through two rounds, just three strokes behind the leader.

Scott almost holed his chip shot on the final hole – that had similarities (although not quite as difficult) to his chip shot on the final hole at Royal Sydney last month. It was a pity this wasn’t the result.

The partnership between Scott and Weatherley came about largely though Kelly Slater, who explains the situation in the video below. He also does his best to answer some stupid questions on comparing the sport of surfing to golf.

  • Good to see Scotty so relaxed and enjoying his golf so much!
Spot on with the “stupid questions”.
