Shootout Golf
While perusing the online world of golf, Aussie Golfer stumbled upon this interesting event which is being held at different venues across Australia. Shootout Golf takes the stableford format that anyone with an official golf handicap can play and introduces a unique twist. Six hole numbers are drawn at random once everyone has completed their round and the 8 golfers with the highest scores compete in a 4 hole shootout in front of the rest of the field. The best two then go head to head in a sudden-death playoff.
It sounds like it creates that tournament like atmosphere most golfers dream about playing in and gives everyone a chance. The golfers who have a good round are more of a chance to play in the playoff but it does introduce a degree of excitement for all players. There’s events planned for the rest of the year and many more for next year. Check out the Shootout Golf website for more information.
