Scott laments another missed opportunity at a major: video interview

Adam Scott rues another missed opportunity to win a major golf championship.

Here is Adam Scott’s interview following the 2013 US PGA Championship. He appears to be a little annoyed that he hasn’t grabbed another major victory, especially considering how well he is striking the golf ball.

“I have got to push on and try and win a couple other tournaments this year to feel like I really get something out of my good play.  It’s hard to play good all the time, what I feel is good all the time, and not win,” Scott said.

“I think I led every major at some point during the week.”

Adam Scott is playing superb golf and it must be frustrating, but from an Australian golf fan point of view it’s been compelling.

It is almost a given Scott will be in contention to win at each major this year. It is in stark contrast to a several years when Australian flags were few and far between on major championship leaderboards.

I don’t think anyone (Australia golf fans included) is under any illusions about how winning golf tournaments. And as well as Scotty is hitting the ball, there has been someone else hitting it a little better. And that’s all it takes.

Phil Mickelson and Jason Dufner’s finish at the last two majors was almost unbeatable no matter how well you’re hitting the golf ball. As long as he keeps getting himself in with a shot, another major is surely just around the corner.

In the meantime, it’d be nice to see him with the FedEx Cup to cap off a truly stellar year before he shows off his green jacket in Australia in November.
