Matsuyama wins WGC Bridgestone with sizzling final round: video

Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama has claimed his second WGC title after a sizzling final round at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Matsuyama birdied his last three holes to tie a course-record a 9-under 61 (also held by Jose-Maria Olazabal, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia) Matusyama to cruise to victory by five strokes, over Johnson.

Matsuyama’s previous WGC victory was winning the WGC HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai last year and he shoots to the top of the FedEx Cup rankings. Matsuyama is a lock in as the top ranked player for the Presidents Cup International Team to play the USA in New Jersey in late September.

The Australians

Despite a poor final round of 3-over par, Scott Hend was the best of the Australians, finishing with a 5-under par total in a tie for 10th place. Adam Scott was a shot further back at 4-under with Jason Day finishing in a tie for 24th at 2-under par.
