Martin Kaymer and that amazing par-saving clutch putt: video

Martin Kaymer won the 2014 PLAYERS Championship but not before making one of the most amazing par-saving putts you’ll ever see.

Kaymer arrived at the notorious island-green 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass with a one shot lead over Jim Furyk. After a long delay due to thunderstorms, Kaymer appeared a little shaky and looked in danger of giving up his lead.

Kaymer’s tee shot zipped back off the green and came within a foot of going into the hazard. A poor chip shot followed and he looked certain to drop a shot before he drained one of the most remarkable, clutch, par-saving putts you’ll ever see.

The 2010 US PGA Championship winner got up-and-down for par on the final hole to claim a dramatic victory and become just the fourth player to have won The PLAYERS Championship, a WGC event and a major. The other three are Adam Scott, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
