Karrie Webb wants to be an Olympic golfer: video

The great Karrie Webb chatted to Golfing World ahead of her 20th season on the LPGA Tour.

Karrie Webb and re-iterated her strong desire to be a part of Australia’s Olympic golf team in a great interview with Golfing World.

Webb chats about differences between tour life 20 years ago and now, a wish to do more for women’s golf and says she is doing everything she can to represent Australia at the Olympics in Rio in 2016.

“I don’t think I get in on past achievements, I’ve still got to play very well in the next 18 months to cement my position in the team,” Webb said.

“I’m not taking anything for granted there. I think that’s why I worked really hard this off season.”

The top-15 players from the Rolex Rankings automatically qualify for the 72-hole individual stroke play competition. The event will be restricted to a field of 60 with a maximum of four players to represent each country. Webb is currently ranked 9th in the world.
