Haas wins everything: FedEx Cup, Tour Championship and Presidents Cup berth?

Bill Haas has won the extremely lucrative FedEx Cup by beating Hunter Mahan in a three-hole sudden death playoff to not only win the Tour Championship, the final FedEx Cup playoff event.
In doing so, and after the calculators were put away, it was found that he did enough (and other players didn’t) to claim the FedEx Cup and a cool $10million. Including the tournament victory, he earned $11.4million.
Earlier it had looked like nerves had got the better of Haas as he made two bogey’s over the final three holes to creep into the playoff with Mahan. But it was Haas’ amazing up and down out of the water on the second playoff hole that will long be remembered.

Haas’ ball found the water on the second playoff hole and with Mahan looking like par will secure the victory, he needed something amazing to get out of trouble. He elected to play the shot (as seen in the video above) and made an incredible par.

The victory puts even more pressure on the US Presidents Cup team captain Fred Couples. He has already stated Tiger Woods will be one of his two choices to make the final 12-man team. But with only one pick to go, most assumed he would announce US PGA Championship winner, Keegan Bradley as the final pick for the team when both team captains make their choices known this Wednesday (AEST time).
Haas’ victory leaves Couples with some thinking to do. Haas narrowly missed automatic selection after a great season on the PGA Tour. And with Haas’ father Jay an assistant captain to Couples, there is some internal pressure on the decision too.
