This is tough to watch, especially once you’ve heard the punchline, but that’s how it was told to me by none other than the unfortunate golfer himself.
This video has been bouncing around the internet for a while now but it turns out it this is the bunker on the fourth hole at St Andrews Beach and it was Colyn Graham who attempted to play the shot.
Playing in a four round tournament on the Mornington Peninsula a few years ago, Colyn found himself in a precarious position on the fourth hole at St Andrews Beach Golf Course.
After being advised he was better off taking a drop, Colyn responded with, “Are we playing bowls golf or chess or bowls” and attempted to play the shot.
Colyn finished the round and only realised the damage done when he noticed how sore his ribs were the next day.
Take care people. They’re not called hazards for no reason.
