GOLF GEAR / PuttOUT Pressure Putt Trainer Review

A new putting training device has hit the market that helps your speed control and adds a little bit of pressure to holing putts.

Putting training aides are a dime-a-dozen and while all would have some nice ways to improve your putting, this new one had us entertained, and improving a little quicker than most.

The PuttOUT Pressure Putt Trainer is a target that you can place on a green, carpet or putting mat. The unique foldable design means that any good putts are returned to you the same distance they would have gone past the hole; the bad ones slipping by.

Of particular interest to us was this unique way this device helps improve the speed control of your putts. A feature many practice putting devices lack and one that had us practising a lot longer (and more often) than we were expecting.

Like all golf training devices and practice drills there needs to be an element of competition or scoring to keep it interesting for the majority of golfers. And the PuttOUT does a nice job of that.

Combined with the PuttOUT Putting Mat (which rolls out flat every time and one of the best we’ve used) we’ve had a number of putting practice games between colleagues using the different marked distances and using the novel pop-out micro-target.

A perfect putt – one that was straight and going 18-inches past the hole – will lodge itself in the small micro-target hole. A surprisingly satisfying event and one that brings with it three-points, as opposed to one-point when a golf ball returns back down the ramp.

The PuttOUT Pressure Putt Trainer certainly does a great job of making putting practice (particularly in the home) an enjoyable activity, and a nice way to improve consistency and the pace at which your golf ball falls into the hole.

The PuttOUT Pressure Putt Trainer retails for $44.99 and you can grab yourself one via Amazon.com.au
