Someone had the foresight, or foolishness to bet on Henrik Stenson and Aaron Baddeley winning last week. And they did.
After a weekend where I’ve been discussing just how difficult golf is to bet on, this is quite extraordinary and we’ve been assured by TAB that this winning ticket is legitimate. Some Aussie punter thought it was worth putting $50 down on Henrik Stenson to win The British Open and Aaron Baddeley to win the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship over the weekend, and it won.
Stenson who hadn’t made a cut in his last three tournaments won The Open and Aaron Baddeley who hasn’t won a tournament since 2011 won the Barbasol Championship. At $34 and $51 each, the combined multibet netted this punter $86, 700. No word on who this was or how many bets he put on but we’re guessing it made up for however many bets he or she has put on for some time.
