Golf commentator says he’s seen Patrick Reed improve his lie four times

Peter Kostis was recently shown the door by CBS and is no longer part of the golf coverage and has provided several startling stories on the most recent No Laying Up podcast.

Never one to hold back during his tenure as a golf commentator, Peter Kostis provides a candid insight into the world of TV golf coverage including a startling revelation about Patrick Reed.

Reed, of course, was accused of improving his lie in a bunker during a tournament in the Bahamas last year.

Cleared of any wrongdoing by the PGA Tour, golf fans went down hard on Reed on social media, accusing him of cheating at The Presidents Cup, and then again at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii earlier this year.

Several golfers including Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Cameron Smith jumped on board to also accuse Reed of cheating.

Kostis is now claiming this is by no means the first time he has seen Reed flouting the rules of golf by improving his lie.

“I’ve seen Patrick Reed improve his lie, up close and personal, four times now,” Kostis said. “That’s the only time I ever shut McCord up. He didn’t know what to say when I said, Well, the lie that I saw originally wouldn’t have allowed for this shot.”

“Because he put four or five clubs behind the ball, kind of faking whether he’s going to hit this shot or hit that shot. By the time he was done, he hit a freaking 3-wood out of there, which when I saw it, it was a sand wedge layup originally.”

Here is the moment Kostis is referring to:
